But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Since this refrigerator is a premium, I expect higher quality.
This fridge is a good choice, despite the blip. It has a huge freezer compartment which is uncommon for counter-depth French-door fridges. It also holds plenty of frozen food, which is a big difference from other models.
Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment offers 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is roughly on par for an French door fridge costing this much. It also has a decent sized ice maker packed into the left-hand door, although it's not the biggest I've seen.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range. This includes Wi-Fi as well as app support, and GE's SmartHQ Software. It's also a bit less than the best counter-depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which helps make it an attractive option.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
If you're looking for a French door fridge that doesn't cost a fortune this Frigidaire is a great choice. It's a basic refrigerator which may not be as appealing like some of its competitors however it has enough features to make it a good option. Its most notable feature is the adjustable temperature drawer that helps keep food items like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a large ice maker and a water dispenser.
The "Chill Drawer", which is situated over the two crisper bins, is a excellent feature. The drawer allows you to divert part of the fridge's cooling power directly to this area, meaning you can keep food items that require extra attention. You can alter this feature using a slider that's located right on the outside of the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've noticed that the general settings work better than the specific ones.
In my tests, the temperature of the refrigerator stayed fairly consistent across different areas of the refrigerator. Temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary significantly from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a great performance, but it doesn't quite make it to the top of our ratings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be paired with a smart thermostat in order to get more accurate readings on the internal temperature of your fridge.
The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of gray-bodied stainless with a "smudge proof" finish. It is capable of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing, even compared to glossy stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
